Climate Change Mitigation and Strategies
Climate change mitigation refers to efforts aimed at reducing or preventing the emission of greenhouse gases. The goal of mitigation is not only to address the causes of climate change but also to implement strategies that protect and restore ecosystems and enhance adaptive capacity to reduce vulnerability to climate impacts.
Here are some climate change mitigation strategies:
To mitigate climate change, strategies include transitioning to renewable energy sources like solar and wind power, increasing energy efficiency, and implementing carbon capture and storage technologies. Promoting sustainable land use practices, such as agroforestry and permaculture, and conserving natural habitats also help reduce greenhouse gas emissions. Implementing climate-resilient agriculture practices, ocean fertilization, and bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS) are additional effective strategies. Transitioning to electric or hybrid vehicles, improving public transportation, and promoting non-motorized transportation also reduce emissions. Effective waste management through recycling, composting, and waste-to-energy conversion is crucial. International cooperation through global climate agreements, climate finance, and technology transfer is essential. Implementing carbon pricing mechanisms like carbon taxes, cap-and-trade systems, and carbon offsetting encourages emissions reduction. Educating the public and raising awareness about climate change, as well as ongoing research and development, are critical for driving mitigation efforts.

What we need is a new mindset and political will to effect change. EPA should take a lead role in sensitising the population. For example, indiscriminate chopping of tree to make charcoal has an impact on the environment. If people cannot link cause and effect, environmental degradation continues.
We all have a role to play in this. I think we should be self reliant. Good job keep it up
