SDG 14: Life Below Water

Goal 14 seeks to conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas, and marine resources. Healthy marine ecosystems are crucial for climate change mitigation, as oceans act as significant carbon sinks and help regulate the climate. This goal addresses the impacts of ocean acidification and pollution, promoting practices that protect marine biodiversity, which in turn supports ecosystem resilience against climate-related changes.

SDG 15: Life on Land

Goal 15 aims to protect, restore, and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems, manage forests sustainably, and combat desertification and biodiversity loss. Healthy ecosystems serve as carbon sinks, and by promoting afforestation, reforestation, and sustainable land management practices, this goal contributes directly to climate change mitigation. Additionally, the preservation of biodiversity is essential for resilience to climate impacts, ensuring ecosystems can adapt to changing conditions.
